What a Woman Wants…In a Watch

It is very interesting to consider what women are looking for in a timepiece today. I know what I like. For me it isn’t just one brand or complication or style or shape that interests me…. it is almost as if the watch itself comes to life. Take my Corum Classical GMT as an example. The dial is the ocean blue with the continents laid out. It reminds me of the different places I have been lucky enough to travel to and speaks of places I would love to travel to.

Glashuette Original Senator Perpetual Calendar

The functionality of it speaks for itself…a second time zone with a world time feature with the easy push buttons for quick adjustments when traveling. Another of my favorites is my Breitling Cockpit Lady in stainless steel. It is a great watch that, believe it or not, lends itself to blue jeans yet with the diamond bezel goes easily into the evenings and something a little more dressy. It is not too large but is not a watch that would ever be accused of being dainty! There are watches that I am on the lookout for but haven’t found the perfect fit.

Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye

I am trying to decide on a perpetual calendar. I am ready to move into the more complicated realm of watches but even for me this is a tough decision. I have been eyeing the Glashuette Original Senator Perpetual Calendar. Even though I don’t mind a large case this one would not be too overbearing for me. I love the layout of the dial and the fact that it is available in stainless steel! Another watch that has caught my eye is the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Bi-Retrograde. It’s not exactly a perpetual calendar but it does show the day of the week and the seconds in a retrograde format as well as the date and the moon-phase and to top it off you can get it with diamonds, too! It is complicated and feminine at the same time. For the time being (no pun intended) I will keep researching my options and I will get back to you with more musings! Let me know if you have any suggestions.
