The first thing one notices about Ulysse Nardin’s Michelangelo Collection is the distinctive tonneau case shape. Ulysse Nardin has expanded the Michelangelo collection over the years to an impressive ten different models. They are the Gigante UTC Dual Time Limited Edition, Gigante Chronometer Limited Edition, Gigante Chronometer, Gigante UTC Dual Time, Big Date, Chronograph, Perpetual Ludovico, Lady, and Midsize.
Ulysse Nardin’s Michelangelo Gigante, is the largest watch in this collection. Measuring 38 x 43 mm it stands out on your wrist. The Dual Time version has the crown set at three o’clock, a date window at two o’clock, and the second time zone at nine o’clock. One adjusts the second time zone with the two pushers on the left side of the case. Both versions have 42 hour power reserve and are water resistant to 50 meters. Ulysse Nardin offers the Michelangelo Gigante’s in several case and dial color combinations. The blue dial and strap combination is very unique, while the black dial with gold markers and gold case has a more elegant look. The Gigante collection is only offered with Roman numeral markers.
The smaller Michelangelo collection measures in at 35.1 x 37.1 mm. This mid sized version like it larger cousin the Gigante is available in a big date, dual time and chronograph version. The smaller case version offers both roman and Arabic hour markers and has a very clean look. If you seek a more complicated tonneau shaped timepiece, Ulysse will tempt you with the Perpetual Ludovico. Set in the larger case this perpetual calendar will track the day, date, and month.
