The Bell & Ross Phenomenon

As a collector, I’m always amazed by the ebb and flow of watch brands. It seems that watch brands, even the most traditional Manufacturers, go through peaks and valleys. My personal observation is that luxury watch brands seem to follow a 5 year cycle, followed by a 2-3 year product rebirth. A recent example of this has been the meteoric rise of Bell & Ross and their Instrument Collection. My favorite and the one I wear is the BR 01-92.

Creating the look of an airplane cockpit, the retro aviator appeal of this watch is undeniable. A very cool timepiece, that doesn’t look like any other at a truly reasonable price point. Not since the IWC Big Pilot have I seen an Aviator watch as cool as the Bell & Ross Instrument Collection

While so many timepiece designs simply play “follow the leader” and iterate on other brands designs, Bell & Ross has done something truly unique and has created a buzz much like Panerai in years past.
