The IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG is a watch created with the devotee of high performance automobiles in mind. Boasting the same technical and constructive details as the IWC Ingenieur Automatic in stainless steel, this Ingenieur variant pays tribute to the heart-pounding speed machines built by Mercedes Benz’s legendary custom-tuning shop in Afalterbach, Germany.
Much in the same way a world-class engine is designed for the purpose of winning, the movement of the IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG has also been designed specifically for it’s purpose: to ensure maximum longevity and brute endurance in extreme situations. Manufactured by IWC, the Caliber 80110 utilizes the company’s innovative and efficient Pellaton pawl-winding system, while also incorporating additional shock protection unique to this movement. Efficient in its winding, the C. 80110 has a power reserve of 44-hours and supports a quick-setting date display.
The IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG’s 42.5-millimeter case is manufactured from titanium, a material both lightweight and hypoallergenic. In the same manner as the steel Ingenieur Automatic, the Ingenieur AMG features an inner cage made from soft iron; this important protection provides the IWC manufacture movement within immunity from the harmful effects of magnetic fields rated up to 80,000 A/m. As a further testament to the durability inherent in this watch, the Ingenieur AMG is water-resistant to a depth of 120 meters. Distinctive red accents and textures on the watch’s dial evoke the instrumentation found in the cabin of the Mercedes-Benz AMG cars. Equally appealing on the titanium bracelet or an alternative black strap, the IWC Ingenieur AMG is exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. The IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG features a distinctive engraved back that celebrates the partnership of IWC and Mercedes Benz, a distinguished relationship which pays respect to and celebrates the similarities shared by elite car building and fine watchmaking.
